This Privacy Policy explains how Révolutionnaire Movement Inc., operating Sisters ("Sisters," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you visit sisters.is, use a form on the website, sign up for emails from Sisters, or otherwise communicate with us through the website.
This Privacy Policy applies to sisters.is and the website services that link to this Policy. Separate privacy notices, releases, registration terms, or consent forms can apply when you participate in a Sisters production, event, research project, casting opportunity, contest, or other experience that collects information beyond what is described here.
This Policy does not control the privacy practices of Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, LinkedIn, or other third-party websites and services that you choose to visit.

1. The short version
We collect only the information we need to operate the website, respond when you contact us, send updates you ask to receive, understand and protect our website, and meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
We do not use personal information from users we know are under 18 for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 through sisters.is.
If you are under 13, please do not submit information through our website forms or email signup.
2. What personal information we collect
"Personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked with a particular person, as defined under applicable privacy laws.
The information we collect depends on how you interact with Sisters.
Information you give us
Connect form. When you use the Connect page, we collect the information you enter, which can include your name, email address, the reason you are reaching out, and the message you send.
Sisters IRL interest list. If you ask to be first to hear about Sisters IRL rooms, cities, and invitations, we collect your email address and information needed to manage your subscription.
Emails and other communications. If you email us or otherwise communicate directly with Sisters, we receive the information included in your message and any information you choose to provide.
Future experiences. If you register for a Sisters event, participate in a production, respond to a survey, submit material for consideration, or take part in another Sisters experience, we can collect additional information needed for that activity. When appropriate, we will provide a separate notice, release, consent form, or set of terms explaining what is being collected and why.
Please do not send sensitive personal information through the general Connect form unless Sisters specifically asks for it and explains why it is needed.
Information collected when you use the website
When you visit sisters.is, our website, hosting provider, security services, and other technical service providers can automatically receive basic technical information such as your internet protocol address, browser type, operating system, device type, referring page, pages requested, approximate general location derived from an IP address, date and time of access, and technical information needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the website.
This information helps the website load, function, remain secure, and show us basic patterns in how the site is used.
We do not need your precise location to provide the launch website and do not ask you to provide it through the general website forms.
3. Cookies, local storage & similar technologies
Sisters can use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when they are needed for website functionality, security, preferences, or performance.
Sisters does not use sisters.is to sell personal information or build cross-site advertising profiles about girls or young women.
If Sisters introduces optional analytics, advertising, or other tracking technologies that change the practices described in this Policy, we will update this Policy and provide consent or privacy controls where applicable law requires them.
You can also control many browser-based technologies through your browser settings. Disabling certain technologies can affect how parts of a website function.
4. How we use personal information
We use personal information to operate and maintain sisters.is; respond to questions, requests, partnership messages, press messages, talent and editorial messages, Sisters IRL interest, and general communications; send Sisters IRL or other Sisters updates that you asked to receive; manage email preferences and unsubscribe requests; provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our website and digital systems; understand basic website performance and how visitors interact with Sisters; prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and unauthorized access; maintain appropriate business and administrative records; enforce our Terms; protect the rights, safety, and property of Sisters, our visitors, participants, partners, and others; and comply with applicable law, legal process, court orders, and lawful government requests.
If we want to use personal information for a materially different purpose that requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it before doing so.
5. How we disclose personal information
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We do not use personal information from users we know are under 18 for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
We disclose personal information only in circumstances connected with operating Sisters, including the following.
Service providers
We can provide information to companies that perform services for Sisters, such as website hosting, cloud storage, website security, form processing, email delivery, mailing-list management, information technology, and other operational services.
These providers receive information needed to perform their services for Sisters and are expected to handle it in accordance with their contractual and legal obligations.
At your direction
We can disclose information when you ask us to do so or consent to a specific disclosure.
Legal obligations & safety
We can disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by applicable law or valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security incidents, threats, unlawful conduct, or potential violations of our Terms.
We can also disclose information when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, health, or safety of Sisters, our users, event participants, team members, partners, or other people.
Business transactions
If Sisters is involved in a financing, merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar corporate transaction, information held by the business can be reviewed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections.
6. Email communications
If you join the Sisters IRL interest list or another Sisters email list, we will use the email address you provide to send the communications you requested.
Marketing or editorial emails will include a way to unsubscribe.
You can also ask us to stop sending optional email communications by contacting hi@sisters.is.
Unsubscribing from optional communications does not prevent us from sending messages that are necessary to respond to something you asked us about, manage a request, or address security or legal issues.
7. Girls, teens & children
Sisters is designed for young women and girls, with our core editorial audience beginning at age 13.
Our website is not designed for children under 13 to submit personal information.
If you are under 13, do not submit your name, email address, message, or other personal information through sisters.is.
If we learn that we collected personal information online from a child under 13 without the authorization required by law, we will take steps to delete it and address the issue. COPPA imposes specific requirements when an operator of an online service directed to children under 13, or an operator with actual knowledge of under-13 collection, collects personal information online from a child.
For users ages 13 to 17, Sisters takes a data-minimization approach. General website forms do not require a date of birth, school name, home address, precise location, or phone number. We do not knowingly sell or share teen personal information for targeted advertising.
If a future Sisters activity requires additional information from a minor, we will design the collection for that specific activity and obtain parent or guardian involvement where required by applicable law or where Sisters determines it is appropriate for the activity.
Parents and legal guardians who believe a child has provided personal information to Sisters in a way that raises a privacy concern can contact hi@sisters.is.
Canadian privacy guidance emphasizes meaningful consent, limiting collection to what is needed, and treating children's and young people's information as especially sensitive.
8. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate legal, security, administrative, accounting, or record-keeping needs.
The length of time can depend on the type of information, why it was collected, whether you remain subscribed to a Sisters communication, whether you have asked us to delete it, whether the information is needed to respond to a request or resolve an issue, and whether a legal or contractual requirement requires continued retention.
When information is no longer reasonably needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it, anonymize it, or securely dispose of it.
We aim to keep personal information from minors for no longer than reasonably needed for the relevant purpose.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful loss, misuse, access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
No website, storage system, or transmission method can guarantee complete security.

10. Third-party websites & social platforms
Sisters links to third-party websites and platforms, including social media services.
When you follow one of those links, the third party operates under its own terms and privacy practices. Sisters does not control how third parties collect, use, or disclose information once you interact with their services.
Information you choose to post publicly on a social media platform can be visible to other users and the public according to that platform's settings and policies.
We encourage you to review the privacy settings and policies of services you choose to use.
11. International processing
Sisters has visitors, collaborators, and audiences in more than one country.
Depending on where our service providers operate, personal information can be processed or stored outside the country, province, state, or territory where you live.
When applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal information, Sisters will use appropriate legal and contractual protections.
12. Your privacy rights
Your privacy rights depend on where you live and which laws apply to Sisters and the relevant processing.
Canada
Where Canadian private-sector privacy law applies, you can have rights to ask about personal information Sisters holds about you, request access to it, request correction of inaccurate information, and withdraw consent for certain uses, subject to legal restrictions and exceptions.
PIPEDA requires covered organizations to identify purposes, seek meaningful consent where required, limit collection to what is needed, and provide access and correction rights.
United States
Residents of certain U.S. states can have rights to request access to personal information, correction, deletion, or portability, and rights to opt out of certain forms of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or other covered processing.
Applicable laws can also prohibit discrimination against a consumer for exercising a privacy right and can provide a right to appeal certain privacy-request decisions.
Sisters does not sell personal information and does not knowingly use personal information from users under 18 for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
California law contains specific protections relating to the sale or sharing of personal information of consumers under 16.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom & Switzerland
Where applicable data-protection law applies, you can have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, or objection to certain processing.
Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent, subject to applicable law.
You can also have the right to complain to the relevant data-protection authority.
Where European rules require parental consent for a child's consent-based use of an online service, the applicable age threshold varies by country between 13 and 16.
Depending on the activity, Sisters processes information where needed to respond to your request, based on your consent, to comply with law, or for legitimate interests such as website security, operating the business, and understanding site performance, where those interests are not overridden by applicable privacy rights.
13. How to exercise a privacy right
To make a privacy request, email hi@sisters.is with the subject line Privacy Request.
Please describe the request and provide enough information for us to identify the information involved.
We can ask for reasonable information to verify your identity before completing certain requests. We will use verification information for that purpose.
Where applicable law permits an authorized agent to submit a request for you, we can ask for evidence of the agent's authority and can take appropriate steps to verify the request.
If we cannot fulfill all or part of a request, we will explain the decision where applicable law requires us to do so.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
Sisters can update this Privacy Policy as our website, experiences, technology, or legal obligations change.
When we make changes, we will post the revised Policy on sisters.is and update the "Last updated" date.
If a change materially affects how we handle personal information and applicable law requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it.
